Common Disinfectants Can be Dangerous If Used Improperly

During the recent coronavirus pandemic, it became obvious that many Americans were not aware of the potential dangers of many common household disinfectants and cleaners if they are improperly prepared, used, or stored. In a 2020 statement, the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that calls to poison centres concerning potentially dangerous exposure to disinfectants and cleaners had increased sharply since the beginning of the pandemic. The CDC went on to say that a 2020 survey indicated many Americans were not aware it is unsafe to wash food products with bleach, apply household disinfectants to bare skin, and inhale or ingest cleaners and disinfectants. Although this knowledge gap is somewhat surprising, perhaps one alternative is to re-think the cleaner and disinfectant sector. Perhaps cleaners and disinfectants need to be less toxic, but just as effective. Perhaps they can also be eco-friendly.

Research has validated HOCl as a non-toxic, non-irritating, and eco-friendly disinfectant and antiseptic that can be used in many different industries. You can alleviate your anxiety about disinfectants by adopting what is already proven to be safe – HOCl. Ideas for this blog were gathered from here.
